Checking Out the Chicago Fire with Quaker

Not too long ago I told you about Quaker joining forces with the Chicago Fire to teach kids about healthy eating and about how Quaker can fuel your family fun, keep you energized, and keep you moving.

I had an opportunity to take the kids to a game with Quaker. We attended the Chicago versus Montreal game. The Fire won 2-1. Woo hoo!! I had never attended a game before. It was very interesting to watch.

Before the game started we got to watch the teams practice. We also got pretty up close and personal with the Fire Mascot, Sparky. He’s an awesome dog. Well, most of us did not mind getting up close and personal. But Jayden (as usual) hid behind the bleachers as soon as he saw him coming. The he said that he knew it was a man in costume. “Then why are you hiding kid?” LOL. They also enjoyed watching him run out with the flag during team introductions.

One of the highlights for me was watching what I will call the crazed fans. LOL. They were very organized. They had huge flags, props, a leader, and several songs. They were like cheerleaders on steroids. It brought back memories of being on the pep squad in high school.

The Quaker Corner is where you go to learn all about what Quaker has to offer. There is food, fun, and programs for children.

We ate hot dogs, pizza, AND nachos. We cheered. We laughed. We had a great time. Unfortunately, it was a late game, so we did not get to stay for the whole thing. The kids were getting wild! However, I look forward to going back one day soon to an earlier game and staying for the whole thing. As we walked through the lot to our car the crowd erupted into cheers. I now know that is because the Fire scored another goal!

We all had a great time. The kids talk about it and ask when we are going to get to go back.
